UPDATE: Over the past week I received multiple emails offering personal insight into how mental health, as well as addiction, can first handedly affect the lives of not only the person going through the experience, but also family and friends who are close. I know that sometimes as a soldier you may feel like a lot is expected of you. At times, even to the point were your civilian life (job and family) carries the burden. For those who may struggle with these issues that are within your life, I am adding a few more resources that may offer you the ability to reach out and confront some of these concerns. The experts at Addiction Center and Alcohol Rehab have created a very comprehensive and easily navigable site (listed above)
REMEMBER, YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
The email’s this week also reminded me that October is not only Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but also Emotional Wellness Month. #awareness The aforementioned webpages take the opportunity to address emotional wellness and addiction. They also offer excellent resources that addresses the correlation between substance abuse and PTSD which you can check out here: www.addictioncenter.com/addiction/post-traumatic-stress-disorder/ #EmotionalWellnessMonth
Additional Information: Alcohol Rehab Guide is an organization that provides comprehensive, reliable information on the various aspects of alcohol abuse and addiction, offering support and guidance for those who are struggling, as well as their parents, family members, friends, and community members.
Thanks Danny & Carly for the write in! You are appreciated for what you do.
